Photography for the RSPB

Updated: Dec 20, 2018

I was recently invited to RSPB Strumpshaw Fen to document the work done by the volunteers on the site. They work hard! The work they do to manage the habitat helps encourage birds, like the bittern, but also other plants and animals in turn - things which aren't as glamorous, but no less worthy. It was different for me to take images of people, and a little daunting to start with. However, once the day had begun I settled in and took a range of shots showing the range of work undertaken: from brush-cutting, to burning and an odd tea break too. Some of the images are now being used to advertise RSPB Residential Volunteer vacancies, so it that's something which interests you have a look on the RSPB website now.
